Bush Heritage Australia
Micro-site
This was a project I took sole charge of at Wellcom - taking the design and doing a complete build, liaising with the client and ensure the finished product ran smoothly - which it did. The site housed a short video about the Australia's Bush Heritage Organization and encouraged Australians to help with their support. It received a large number of hits and was considered a successful project by Bush Heritage in acquiring a large database of potential supporters.
Digital House
Company Website [View]
This was a website I developed for a subsidiary of the Wellcom Group called Digital House.
Their tagline was "It's all about the Dots" - because of course all printing is made up of tiny dots of ink on paper - so the idea was to come up with something that put a bit of focus on the dots to drive the message home to the user. The idea of floating dots came up, each with a small piece of information about the company that would appear when the dots were hovered over.
After creating the initial design in HTML, I took a basic flash demonstration file of a dot bouncing around a bounding box and adapted it to the website, having the dots float in from outside the window on page load and bouncing around within the confines of the user window. On hover the dot will expand to reveal a small message for the user.
For usability, I developed a hide function that then removed the boundaries of the window, allowing the dots to fly off into nowhere and remain hidden.

Pivotech Flash Demonstration [View]
One of my first ever flash projects, but still a favourite, this interactive flash piece simply needed to have a basic demonstration of how the Pivotech's adjustable matress system. I still love the smooth simplicity that I managed to keep despite the fact that I was honestly still a bit of a newbie at using Flash.

Great Wall Motors
Store Locating Web Banner
The goal here was an interactive web banner for advertising on Australian news websites that would allow users to look up their nearest store based on the Postcode they entered.
This used a combination of Flash and PHP scripts to send a request to the Great Wall database for the nearest store, which was returned to the Flash file for the user, along side a link to their website.
Hilton Hotels
Hilton Dunedin Interactive CD
This project was to create an informative interactive CD about the proposed Hilton Hotel development in Dunedin. It featured an introductory video clip with some information about Dunedin itself, followed by information for potential investors about the development itself. The disc was included with the investment prospectus available to anyone interested in being a part of the project.
Honda Australia
Rally New Zealand
CMS Controlled Website [View]
This was one of my first full HTML builds, creating the template for the Rally New Zealand website. Working with another contractor, we put together the website - my focus was primarily on the front-end - which is fed by a Content Management System administered by Rally NZ themselves.
Sleepmaker
Interactive CD-Rom
This project was one of the most clean and simple jobs I'm yet to work on, an interactive mini-catalogue for Sleepmakerin Australia on some of their new mattresses.
Constructed from scratch in flash, I used a combination of timeline manipulation and Actionscript programming to construct a full-screen interactive application consisting of side by side pages the user moves through to find out what they want to know. The catalogue was then burnt to CDs for distribution to customers.

Viva Holidays
Regional Information Micro-site [View]
In building the Viva Holidays website, an interactive map on the home page was required that showed destinations available through the company's deals and offers. Because of frequent additions and changes to the map, I decided to have it created dynamically, with an administration section to add, edit and remove the destinations, as well as the surrounding regions that encompass them.
When creating a region or destination, I included a map that used jQuery to allow a co-ordinate based click anywhere on the map, that would signify it's location on the map when created. Each time a region or destination was created or modified, an XML file was created, caching all their co-ordinates on the map, which was then called when the map was rendered.
Since creation, the company decided to make some changes to this concept, the website itself included, but the map can still be found on their home page in Javascript form rather than flash.
Wellcom Group
Backup Script
With several websites set up on our companies Linux server, I developed a script to backup the databases in much the same way that Mac OS X's Time Machine works - performing regular backups every half an hour which are kept for a week, then ensuring one weekly backup is stored from then on. The server backs up several different databases to both itself and an off-site location.
Office Xmas Card
Every year each Wellcom office puts together their own Xmas card to mark the occassion. Our team brainstormed a few ideas then together with the help of a colleague, we constructed this take on Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper photo.
Organization Website [View]
My first solo project working for Wellcom, I was given a design and concept for the site which I had to bring to life for our company. Although there were many modifications made during development, the site has come together as a large portfolio of what the Wellcom Group have to offer both in New Zealand and Australia.
Westpac
ViewONE Dashboard Demo
The ViewONE Dashboard is a web based application for customer’s to manage their investments.
A storyboard was given to us from which the animation was created to simulate a user’s interaction with the system, alongside a voice recording, explaining the various aspects of the Dashboard.
They flash movie player was custom built from scratch and allowed users to scrub back and forth through the movies.
XML Flash Banner
This was another Flash/XML project for Westpac in Australia, who required a small box for one of their websites showcasing features of a new product. They were wanting to edit an XML document with the content, as well as update images so I created this flash file that pulled and rendered the tabs from the XML file.
Miscellaneous
Adrian with a W.
Of course I've constructed this site myself, which runs off of a small CMS in the back end for editing of pages and projects displayed. Hopefully this paradox doesn't open up any sort of black-hole in the universe.
B-Movie Poster
Sky's MGM Channel held a competition to create a "Quentin Tarantino Style" B-Movie poster for which this was my entry that DID get an 'Honourable mention'.
Charred Films Logo
This was a logo I did for good friend Dione Chard for her own film production company. I also did a small amount of work on graphics and as a Music Director in some of her other short films which was GREAT fun.
HTML Emails
I've built various HTML newsletters for a wide range of 15 to 15,000 recipients on small and large budgets.
Lion Red Wedding Invitation
The single strangest request I've EVER had - all-be-it one I had some great fun with - the brief was for a wedding invitation that simply looked like a Lion Red can and folded open to reveal the wedding details. The client was extremely happy with the result.
Stock Market Ticker Simulator
As a bit of fun, when my flatmates and I hosted an "80's Wall Street" themed party, I built this project to run on a few televisions around the house. A webcam linked to a computer detected movement at the party and with more movement came a higher stock price, and vice versa. It was a fantastic hit at the party and I'm working on creating it as an isolated project for others to download and utilise.
